The Skinny

The rumor mill has been swirling, as rumor mills are wont to do, about a possible new wrinkle in term-limits negotiations. It’s long been known that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger wants some kind of redistricting reform. But lately there have been whispers that the gov may want something more as part of a mega-deal: a third term. Legislative leaders currently are trying to broker a deal that would allow them to serve in their leadership positions for at least four more years, so why not the guv and the other statewide officers? Through a spokesman, Schwarzenegger said he does not support extending gubernatorial term limits. As for the rest, press secretary Aaron McLear says the administration has “not taken a position on a change in term limits for other constitutional officers.” …

New Republican PR firm BGK is barely two months old, but already they have a new partner. The firm, led by op research specialist Mark Bogetich, along with Michael Kahoe and Lawrence Green, has added strategist Joe Schumate to the company marquee. Schumate is a former deputy chief of staff under Gov. Pete Wilson, and recently has helped coordinate independent expenditures for the Chamber of Commerce’s JobsPAC. …

Earlier this month, Schwarzenegger won a TRANNY. And now, a big congrats to Sen. Carole Migden, who has been named as a “breastfeeding champion” by the California Women, Infants and Children Association. The group is honoring Migden “for her SB 22, which would expand “breastfeeding support programs.”
