Edwin Meese III: Reagan’s Attorney General

Edwin Meese III joined Ronald Reagan at the start of first term as governor and remained part of Reagan’s team in Washington. His last job was the one he says he enjoyed the most – attorney general of the United States.

He was interviewed in Sacramento by Lou Cannon, who has written an extensive biography of Reagan as both governor and president and who followed Meese’s career both in California and Washington.

For more information, please read the biographies by Lou Cannon: “Governor Reagan: His Rise to Power” and “President Reagan: The Role of a Lifetime.
