Capitol Weekly’s Top 100 Party, August 11, 2026

Each year, Capitol Weekly’s Top 100 names the most powerful movers and shakers in California politics. We don’t include elected officials. Instead, we look at those who devote their professional lives to fighting for – or against – issues of state politics and policy, including lobbyists, bureaucrats, activists, trade group leaders, Capitol staffers and even journalists.

The 18th edition of the Top 100 will be released at a lively end-of-session reception on Tuesday, August 11. You’re invited to celebrate with us at this very special mixer. Enjoy a hosted bar, delicious snacks and special surprise guests in one of the most beautiful historic settings in the city. You’ll have fun! You’ll be the first to receive a copy of Capitol Weekly’s 2026 Top 100 Book!

And, we’re adding to our Top 100 Hall of Fame, which we launched in 2024.

We are proud to announce the 2026 Top 100 Hall of Fame class:
.
  • Carmela Coyle of California Hospital Association
  • Robbie Hunter, State Building and Construction Trades, retired
  • Paula Treat, Lobbyist, legend
  • Bob White of California Strategies
and, in Memoriam:
.
  • Scott Lay, Journalist and advocate
  • Allan Zaremberg, California Chamber of Commerce
