“The prison officers’ union says Gov. Schwarzenegger should be recalled from office for a myriad of sins. Is the recall serious?”

No. But fun to watch.

Absolutely. An angry, wealthy special interest is a dangerous foe

Any one with that much money has to be taken seriously. People have collected a million signatures for issues a lot stupider than this. It’s too bad it’s the guards. No one believes their motives. Started by someone else, you could make a decent argument that this governor is nothing more – and perhaps much less – than Gray Davis on steroids.

…This is the same prison guard union whose overbearing and thuggish influence on all things corrections has contributed significantly to the fact that the state’s prison health-care system is now in the hands of a federal receiver. Serious recall? Sure. Serious.

Yes — if CCPOA puts the money behind signature gathering. The difference between the Davis recall and the 31 previous unsuccessful recalls against governors was Issa’s money.

“It’s ludicrous, but $1 million is $1 million . . .”

The CCPOA is not the Comedy Club. The effort is serious even if the result will be a joke….

I think the recall is serious. I also think the recallers are in serious jeopardy of ending up with self-serving egg on their tarnished faces – and image — rather than a victory.

Prison Guards President Mike Jimenez is getting challenged for the top job at CCPOA. He may be legitimately pissed at the Governor, but this is all about showing his members how tough he is.

B-O-R-I-N-G The prison offices know only how to be bullies, and when it doesn’t work they try threats. It would be great if they went on strike and Schwarzenegger acted like a Republican – Reagan for instance – and fired them…

Nope. Just grandstanding by union leadership that, having delivered a last/best and final contract to its members, is desperate to get its groove back. It’ll go nowhere.

It would qualify if enough money is spent but would be doomed to failure at the ballot box. Just ask Jeff Denham.

Not unless the remainder of the public employee unions jump on board.

It’s a joke with a capital J, and that rhymes with stay, and that’s what the gov is going to do.

It is serious if they pay enough to qualify it. It is stupid, too. I don’t think it would pass and it is a Mayberry Machiavelli event.

All this is going to do is make the Governor more popular.

I hope CCPOA goes forward with this hare-brained idea and exposes their greedy union demands.

If by “serious” you mean, does it have a chance in hell? No. But I’ll vote for it if given a chance.

He should be recalled for his myriad of sins but the recall is not serious.
