“The governor says it’s time for a debate on legalizing marijuana. What do you think?”

Judging by his press releases, I thought he was already high.

This is where the left and the right will come together. The true Libertarians on the Republican side and the liberals on the far left should embrace this. Of course — the opposition will come from those people that like to keep folks in jail for these victimless crimes.

In these tough budget times, any source of revenue looks … and smells … good.

It’s high time for this budding debate. Who is bringing the Cheetos?

Heretofore underrepresented and marginalized Austrian immigrants who may have been seen or videotaped on the subject should be absolved of all felonies.

If the initiatives fail, don’t be surprised if this becomes reality.

He must have been viewing clips of his famous videos taking a toke! Seriously, this is not the debate California needs right now.

About time!!!

It is past time.

Just another poke in the eye of conservatives in his own party. Meanwhile, it’s long past time for that community-wide discussion.
After the special election, there will be far more serious issues that will need debate…..

Up in smoke is where I want to be…

Speaking as a 60-year-old Republican. I think it’s high time that we legalized marijuana, and taxed it reasonably. If the government does not tax this too much, its legalization will cut down on crime, here and South of our borders, and eliminate one profit center for gangs and other negative groups. It will also cut down on health related risks from having it by those groups cut with seriously unhealthy substances.

Hmm…..well, since “debate” is about all that gets done around here, sure, why not?

No debate needed. It’s maddening to think that we haven’t already.

Tax it to pay for the jails for the drug dealers and all the health care and social services costs associated with drug abuse!

Sure. If it was legal I think I would like to try it.

I think its time to pass it around.

I think it’s an excellent time to weed through the arguments… Seriously – the state’s looking for more revenue – maybe it’s time to think outside the box…

Sure. It’s time to rock the joint.
