In a surprise move, U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris suspended her run for the presidency Tuesday ending what had once been a promising campaign, launched with great fanfare in front of 22,000 Oakland supporters. So what happened?

Her announcement came after a slate of bad news: unimpressive fundraising numbers, ugly public departures of key staffers and several devastating media reports describing a campaign in disarray.

Paul Mitchell, veteran political data expert and the founder of the CA120 column column in Capitol Weekly, joined John Howard and Tim Foster on our podcast to discuss what happened and what Harris’ exit means for a race that remains very much in flux.
