Capitol Weekly Podcast: Hilary McLean, Roger Salazar a duo again

Prominent political consultants Roger Salazar and Hilary McLean worked together in tiny digs in Gov. Gray Davis’ press office before the current crop of Capitol Weekly interns were even born. Those were trying times for the Davis communications team — you may ‘recall’ that Davis’ gig didn’t end well.

The pair recently reunited at Alza Strategies, the public affairs/communications firm Salazar founded a few years back. McLean and Salazar sat down with Capitol Weekly’s John Howard and Tim Foster to share stories of getting the message out, interviews that went awry and what’s changed in Sacramento politics in the nearly two decades since Davis left office.
