Mike Gatto sworn in as new Assembly member
Democrat Mike Gatto was sworn in Thursday as the new member of the state Assembly representing the 43rd District, following his special-election victory over Republican challenger Sunder Ramani. Gatto won by 58.7 percent to Ramani’s 41.4 percent.
Gatto, 35, fills the vacancy created when Paul Krekorian left the seat to successfully run in January for the Los Angeles City Council. The 43rd District includes parts of North Hollywood, Glendale, Burbank.
Gatto, an attorney, is a former Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Sherman Oaks.
