Capitol Weekly’s Top 100 Party, August 26, 2025

Each year, Capitol Weekly’s Top 100 names the most powerful movers and shakers in California politics. We don’t include elected officials. Instead, we look at those who devote their professional lives to fighting for – or against – issues of state politics and policy, including lobbyists, bureaucrats, activists, trade group leaders, Capitol staffers and even journalists.

The 17th edition of the Top 100 will be released at a lively end-of-session reception on Tuesday, August 26. You’re invited to celebrate with us at this very special mixer. Enjoy a hosted bar, delicious snacks and special surprise guests in one of the most beautiful historic settings in the city. You’ll have fun! You’ll be the first to receive a copy of Capitol Weekly’s 2025 Top 100 Book!

Come help us celebrate The Top 100! Tickets to the Top 100 Party are $100 each, and the ticket price is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Or, become a Top 100 Party Host for $500 and receive five tickets and our undying gratitude. (Call for details.)

Your Top 100 ticket purchase helps support all of our journalism projects, like Capitol Weekly, The Roundup, and our Public Policy Journalism Internship.

Don’t miss this very special night – see you on August 26!
