Negrete was on this list two years ago and then inexplicably left off last year. Well, we won’t make that mistake again. As the head of the California Association of Realtors political action committee and the organization’s top political strategist, she has more than earned a regular spot here. The CAR has 200,000 members, which is impressive, but Negrete has never been satisfied to rely solely on them to push the organization’s agenda. She is also blessed with everything a person in her situation needs to have to be successful – a brilliant political mind, an ability and willingness to partner with others to get things done and a massive fiscal war chest that means she gets a seat at any table she wants. These days CAR will have more influence on legislative and congressional races and ballot measures than at any time in their history, and Negrete is a big reason why.
