We begin yet again with another move in the Capitol press corps. Mercury
News bureau chief Mark Gladstone has announced his “retirement” from the
journalism biz, moving over to the Senate Office of Research. There, he will
join his former colleague at the Los Angeles Times, Max Vanzi. No word on
who, if anyone, will replace Gladstone in the Merc/Contra Costa Times
