LA Politics and much more with Robb Korinke
Rob KorinkeCAPITOL WEEKLY PODCAST: Today we are joined by Robb Korinke, a principal, along with Mike Madrid, at GrassrootsLab. Korinke and Madrid met at the League of California Cities and bonded over their shared fascination with local politics. Madrid, a prominent NorCal Republican, and Korinke, an LA Democrat, may seem like an odd couple to run a political firm, but they make it work.
We asked Robb about working with someone in the opposition, the dramatic party shift that has taken place at the local level since 2015, the LA Mayor’s race, and who HE thinks had the Worst Week in CA Politics.

When can we see the public face of Hydee? Marissa Roi is all over the place in the media as the DSA moves to take over the LA City Council. I have been a community organizer since I ran my (future) husband’s campaign for State Senator in 1966, the year that every Democrat lost…Hubert Humphrey, Pat Brown on down. As Roi is endorsed by the DSA and is now teaming up with the ever popular City Attorney, where is HYdee? When she last ran, the
newly formed lefties got Faisal Gil to be the top vote getter in the primary. Hydee was unknown, but brilliant compared to all others and she barely won the general election because of the slick ground game of the far left. We need to see her face as she directs comments to the public. We need a media presence and can easily claim that the City Attorney’s office should have no political pitch, but be the City’s lawyer…LA voters have no
idea that the biggest campaign forces want us to turn our government over to Socialists.
We need to see the public face of Hydee or she will lose to the extreme and unqualified Marissa Roi, enthusiastically endorsed by the DSA. Where is Hydee? Going to events where we all love her isn’t going to get us re-elected. Social media hasn’t found her yet.
