Why make it a serious contest when he can continue to keep it humorous?

Any person willing to spend $20 million on a political campaign can make a difference with poll-driven, hyperbolic TV spots.  But he cannot overtake Whitman when she starts with a huge lead and does the exact same thing.

50 odd days.  Get out the checkbook Steve and make it a race!

The election is not until June so there’s plenty of time for Poizner to make illegal immigrants the scapegoat for California’s ills and do what Pete Wilson did: Ignite the fire under Latinos to become more politically active.

Of course, there’s time to make it “competitive” but, unless he’s holding onto a silver bullet, he kept his powder dry too long to close the yawning gap, with VBM ballots going out in a matter of weeks.

Possible but highly unlikely. Poizner is several lengths behind and not  known as a fast closer. A comeback victory this late requires a Poizner stretch drive worthy of Secretariat combined with several high-profile gaffes by Whitman.

Absolutely Poizner can win this thing. He has cut her lead in half in two weeks. Whitman is going to get skewed (either now or worse in the general) with the whole Goldman Sachs thing – which happened on her watch. Her message is not resonating although she has bought name ID. The more she spends at this point the worse for her. Can Poizner pull it off?  Yes, but it is going to be a close one.

Doubtful.  Maybe he should try accusing Meg of war crimes…it gave him a small bump last time.

It’s too early for me to make a coherent reply being so recently departed from La La Land.

I have as much chance of winning the Republican primary as Poizner, and I’m a Democrat … who isn’t running.
