Letter to the Editor: 70 Percent

The majority of Americans, roughly 70%, believe that corporations and the wealthy should pay higher taxes.

A woman’s right to choose is supported by roughly 70% of Americans.

Social Security funding should continue to be funded by the government, according to 70% of Americans.

Approximately 70% of Americans support the Affordable Care Act and want its expansion into universal coverage.

Approximately 70% of Americans favor bans on assault rifles.

The values and beliefs of roughly 70% of Americans reflect the values and beliefs of Democrats.

Congressman Kevin Kiley supports none of the above. He voted for the criminalization of patients choosing to have an abortion and doctors who provide them. He voted against better maintaining our forests. He voted against expanding broadband in rural areas. He has voted to remove barriers to fossil fuel extraction. He voted to eliminate incentives that decrease greenhouse gasses. He voted for banning books from libraries and curricula. He voted against protections for LGBTQ children. He voted for spending cuts to food stamps. He is a supporter of Trump, a political opportunist, and a tool of an extremist Republican party that is willfully deaf to the voices of the American people.

We will vote him out in 2024.
