Week in Photos feature–Journalist Body Count

The Capitol Weekly published its first issue in August, 2005. At the time, the Capitol Press Corps was more than twice the size it is today. The following headshots show the people who have left the press corps since that time—and we’ve probably missed a few.

Some of these folks actually arrived after we started. Some of them are still in journalism elsewhere, while others have moved on to cool new jobs in politics and public policy. But we think the sheer number of people who have left in less than four years is still pretty notable, especially once we put them on a page like this.

Not pictured: Alvie Lindsay (San Jose Mercury News), Hanh Quach and Kimberly Kindy (both Orange County Register), Greg Lucas (San Fransisco Chronicle) and Jenifer Warren (LA Times).
