Updated numbers for public workers’ pay

The state controller’s office has updated its database of salaries and other compensation for public employees in cities counties and special districts.

The information from Controller John Chiang also includes compensation information for state positions that are paid by the state controller, including state employees; the California State University; legislators, and statewide elected officials.

For more information and to access the data, go to the web site here.

Chiang said the site does not include state positions that are not paid by the controller, including staff of legislators and staff of the lieutenant governor; the Food and Agriculture Department’s agriculture associations and Division of Fairs and Expositions; the University of California; and the California Community Colleges.

A list of those cities, counties and special districts that have thus far failed to file salary and compensation reports as directed by the controller — or that have filed incomplete or otherwise noncompliant reports — can be accessed here.  No information from a non-complying city, county or agency will be found in the salary and compensation search database, Chiang noted.

While the Government Compensation in California database will be updated annually, the list of the noncompliant entities is updated as new information is provided to the controller’s office.
