The voters are watching. Will we keep faith with them?

Last November, California voters gave a tremendous boost to our state’s transportation infrastructure by approving Proposition 1B, dedicating nearly $20 billion to help fund our huge backlog of needed transportation projects–by far the largest bond ever approved in California and in the nation. Voters also overwhelmingly approved Proposition 1A (77-percent support), which will provide a steady flow of funding each and every year to traffic safety, congestion relief and transit projects by ensuring the taxes we pay at the pump are only spent on transportation improvements.

Key to passage of these measures was trust. Voters saw (and approved of) our legislators and governor working together on a bipartisan basis to solve problems rather than create more partisan rancor.
