On our way to the Capitol this week, we saw a line of teenagers outside the downtown Sacramento skate shop FTC. Tuesday was the day Nike was releasing their new MF Doom Dunks, a set of high-tops inspired and designed by the rapper MF Doom. It was like a scene straight out of Entourage: A couple dozen skaters were eagerly queued up, waiting for the shop to open so they could purchase the limited-edition sneakers. While Turtle was nowhere to be found, there was one guy in line who didn’t quite looked like he belonged, his thumbs eagerly working the Blackberry as the skater kids were clamoring at the gate. It was Matt Reilly, director of the speaker’s Office of Member Services, who apparently was celebrating his house’s early recess by angling for a new set of kicks.
