The Skinny

We didn’t know the “Capitol Opera Caucus” ever really existed – the building is as full of myths as a Chet Wray Chet speech – but indeed it did, and staffer-turned-campaign strategist Vince Duffy was the co-founder. And he’s carrying on the grand tradition: Tonight the Sacramento Opera will preview its season in the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament’s worship space, and Sacramento Philharmonic conductor Michael Morgan will be on hand to help out. Its $25 a ticket, which isn’t bad – some people, not us, deposit that much in the offering plate on Sunday. It’s also a mix of passion, music and tragedy, things you don’t see often in or near the Capitol except at a couple private parties we could talk about, but won’t Exit stage left.
