There’s an old adage in politics. Actually, it’s not an adage, but it should
be: When people read non-fiction books penned by politicos, they start by
reading the index, to see if they, or their friends, are in it. When a
politicians writes a novel, readers go straight for the naughty bits. So, as
it was with Newt Gingrich and Lynne Cheney before her, this time Barbara
Boxer
gets the treatment, thanks to her hometown newspaper. The San
Francisco Chronicle has gotten ahold a Boxer’s new novel, “A Time to Run,”
and posted the relevant passages on their election blog. We’ll reprise them
