It appears the rough and tumble of the Assembly Republican Leader’s press
office is enough for Ryan Flanigan. Kevin McCarthy‘s deputy press secretary,
has refused an offer to come play arena football for the San Jose Sabercats.
Injuries have forced Flanigan to hang up his spikes. “I have moved on and I
really enjoy my job,” said Flanigan. “I especially enjoy working in
communications for the Assembly Republican Caucus.” Good to know he’s still
a glutton for punishment… Speaking of gluttons, Margita Thompson lent a
helping hand to corporate and political PR maven Beth Miller, serving up
cocktails at Miller’s new Old Sacramento steak house, Lomo. Thompson, the
communications-turned-cocktail maven, took her turn behind the bar to help
raise money for Christmas Promise, which provides Christmas gifts to needy
children. Now if we could only get her to sample the merchandise a bit more,
maybe Margita would be a more reliable press leak
