For months, the insurance industry has been sweating a major story by L.A.
Times reporter Peter Nicholas, who was working on a profile of Dan Dunmoyer,
the former president of the Personal Insurance Federation, who has been
hired as a senior policy adviser to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. The story,
which ran in Sunday’s Times, triggered a lot of concern–and humor,
too–within the industry. Someone was even inspired enough to print up some
bumper stickers. Earlier this week, we received a little something in our
mailbox in an unmarked envelope. Inside was a copy of the bumper sticker,
which reads, “Honk if you haven’t been interviewed by Peter Nicholas!” …
In this era of Internet campaigning, Google placement is key. But someone in
Jerry Brown’s attorney-general campaign might want to try to make some
changes. The good news is that when you Google Jerry Brown, his campaign Web
site is the first thing that pops up. But the tag line is a little outdated:
