State’s information officers hold awards luncheon

The annual State Information Officer's Council "Excellence in State Government Communications" awards for 2008 will be announced at luncheon ceremonies  on Thursday, May 14.

The award recognizes communications achievement among the state's public information officers and professional communicators.

This year, judges reviewed 64 entries in 28 categories ranging from video, print, public outreach, events and web-based projects and campaigns, according to the Information Council.

More than 40 awards are expected to be made in addition to the highlight of the event: announcement of the Public Information Officer of the Year. The luncheon begins at noon.
