Hear ye! Hear ye! Now accepting nominations. In our musings and rumblings this week, we felt ourselves troubled by a collection of five moderate Republican senators who have been designated by their Republican colleagues to walk the budget plank. It’s not that we mind them sharing thoughts. Sam Blakeslee, Bill Emmerson, Toms Harman and Berry Hill, and the new kid, Anthony Cannella,  have decided they want to play ball with Jerry and are ready to step up to the plate. (Yes, that’s a hackneyed baseball reference. It’s spring training time. What did you expect?) But what should we call them? Gang of Five is taken, as is Fab Five, Furious Five, Jackson Five. You get the idea. So we rely on you, dear reader. Send us your best shots at christening this band of brothers to news@capitolweekly.net (before they sell each other out behind closed doors)… Meanwhile, that happy band called the Cordial Caucus is getting together March 15 from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Fox & Goose to schmooze each other. Open to all in the Capitol community…Cheers!
