Legislators await governor’s prison package

California legislators eagerly are awaiting an official look at Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s prison-reform package. Reputed to be more than half as big as the $6 billion plan he floated earlier this year, it will seek to balance the new prison construction sought by Republicans with reforms wanted by Democrats.
